This Is How It Starts: Obama To Ban Bullets By Executive Action, Threatens AR-15 Rifle

Obama promised to use executive action to implement gun control on our nation, and that is exactly what he is doing.  Obama is targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.  They want to accomplish this by labeling it “armor piercing” ammo, which then allows them to use executive power to ban it under the auspices of the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Wednesday night, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, wrote critical letter to the bureau demanding it explain the surprise and abrupt bullet ban.

“This round is amongst the most commonly used in the most popular rifle design in America, the AR-15. Millions upon millions of M855 rounds have been sold and used in the U.S., yet ATF has not even alleged — much less offered evidence — that even one such round has ever been fired from a handgun at a police officer,” said Goodlatte’s letter.

The National Rifle Association, which is working with Goodlatte to gather co-signers, told Secrets that 30 House members have already co-signed the letter and Goodlatte and the NRA are hoping to get a total of 100 fast.

“The Obama administration was unable to ban America’s most popular sporting rifle through the legislative process, so now it’s trying to ban commonly owned and used ammunition through regulation,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA-ILA, the group’s policy and lobby shop. “The NRA and our tens of millions of supporters across the country will fight to stop President Obama’s latest attack on our Second Amendment freedoms.”

The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action said the measure was “clearly intended by the Obama Administration to suppress the acquisition, ownership and use of AR-15s and other .223-caliber general-purpose rifles.”

The organization says the rounds actually have a traditional lead core with a steel tip, and, therefore, should not be considered “armor-piercing.”

Understandably, Conservatives are outraged over this.

Rush Limbaugh addressed the ban by saying,

“[Obama] wants to take guns out of everybody’s hands and if he can’t do that, he’s going to take the bullets that go in the guns out of everybody’s hands.”

Limbaugh referenced Americans who began hoarding ammunition in 2013 after the left’s “endless attempts to use shooting tragedies to push for even more gun control laws.” That, coupled with the non-stop ammunition orders for federal agencies, frightened a lot of Americans into thinking scarce ammunition was going to get more scarce. So they hoarded ammunition and were mocked by the mainstream media as “‘kooks’ and ‘hayseeds’ and ‘paranoids’.”

But Limbaugh says those hoarders are vindicated by the current attempt to ban AR-15 ammunition via executive action. And he warns every American–gun owner or not–that “this is how is starts.” Liberty will “slowly trickle away.”
