Nicki Minaj is your typical Hollywood hypocrite. A successful black woman who blames racism for all the problems in the world. You know, even though she has made millions in this “racist” country.
In her new Rolling Stone interview, the rapper shares her views regarding incidents of police violence against black Americans, including the killing of Eric Garner.
“It’s sickening, and I’ve been reading so many people saying, ‘Why are we surprised?’ That’s what’s really sad: that we should somehow be used to being treated like animals,”
she tells the mag. “It’s gotten to the point where people feel like there’s no accountability: If you are law enforcement and you do something to a black person, you can get away with it.”
She goes on to complain saying, “I feel like when Public Enemy were doing ‘Fight the Power,’ we as a culture had more power—now it feels hopeless. People say, ‘Why aren’t black celebrities speaking out more?’ But look what happened to Kanye [West] when he spoke out. People told him to apologize to [George W.] Bush!”
Miss Minaj, is speaking of a Saturday Night Live skit when rapper Kanye West broke free from his SNL character to show his TRUE character, and called George Bush a racist. Well, his exact words were, “George Bush hates white people”. As a liberal, I don’t expect Nicki to know her facts very well, so she probably didn’t know that in 2005, Kanye West admitted, “in my moment of frustration, I didn’t have the grounds to call him a racist,” adding, “we as human beings don’t always choose the right words.”
He addressed the issue in 2010 as well. On the Today show he said ” to peg someone as a racist, it’s just not right.”
Apparently, falsely accusing someone of being a racist and embarrassing yourself in front of the entire nation, is not reason enough to stay quiet on the issue of race. Nicki tells Rolling Stone that, “You haven’t heard him [Kanye] speaking about these last couple things, and it’s sad.”
I guess it never even enters Nicki’s mind that maybe he isn’t speaking out because there is NOTHING to say. Both the Michael Brown incident and Eric Garner case had nothing to do with race. Cops are not out to kill black people despite what Al Sharpton makes so many believe. According to the latest FBI stats 99.9% of arrests did NOT end in shooting. In fact, police shoot white people at THREE TIMES the rate of black people. But let’s not let those pesky little facts get in our way.
Nicki ends the interview with what one would call a “liberal rationalization.” It’s an attempt to explain or justify a matter without using so much as a microfiber of truth or fact. She feels Kanye, and I’m assuming all black artist, are not speaking out because they don’t want to be attacked.
“How many times can you be made to feel horrible for caring about YOUR people,” she asks, “before you say, ‘F–k it, it’s not worth it, let me live my life because I’m rich, and why should I give a f–k?'”
Oh PLEASE! Name ONE black Hollywood star who has been made to feel horrible for caring about black people? Don’t worry, I’ll wait…
