There are very few actors in Hollywood who reflect Conservative values. Even the ones who secretly lean to the right are deathly afraid of speaking up and hurting their career. Mark Wahlberg is NOT one of them.
Wahlberg has been one of the biggest activists in Hollywood when it comes to supporting our vets. In 2013 Wahlberg made headlines after going off about actors who complain about learning military training for a role.
In a highly emotional Q&A session for the premiere of “Lone Survivor,†Wahlberg, sitting with Marcus Luttrell, the celebrated former Navy SEAL whom the highly anticipated film is based on, laid out the stark differences between what actors and soldiers go through.
“For actors to sit there and talk about, ‘Oh I went to SEAL training,’ and I slept on the — I don’t give a f*** what you did. You don’t do what these guys did,†Wahlberg said after the “Lone Survivor†screening, according to The Wrap.
“For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as somebody in the military’s. How f***ing dare you. While you sit in a makeup chair for two hours.â€
Mark Wahlberg isn’t all talk either. He still works with with the Lone Survivor Foundation to raise thousands of dollars to help wounded vets and their families. He recently raised 1.1 MILLION dollars for a charity that creates and manages close to 200 foundations.
Yesterday, Mark showed us again just how goodhearted and caring he really is. After Mark and his wife had lunch at E. Baldi on Thursday … he was making his way to his ride when he handed a hundred dollar bill to a guy in a wheelchair without missing a beat or making a big deal about it.
TMZ called it “Â as smooth and solid a move as we’ve ever seen a celeb make.” They also reported as a bonus that Wahlberg applauded Tom Brady’s choice to decline an invitation to meet Obama at the White House. Brady’s crowd claim that he had a “prior family engagement, but most are skeptical considering his past with politics.
So to recap, Mark Wahlberg supported Tom Brady for making the choice to publicly snub the president of the United States. A president who repeatedly disrespects this country and our Constitution.
He gives money to people less fortunate than himself, without having to be asked or forced by the government.
Plus, he is CONSTANTLY doing work to help our veterans and raise awareness for the struggles that our soldiers and their families face.
That sounds like an American loving patriot to me! Keep up the good work Mark!
